Mt Cook Village

Well, the weather report was positive for the next two days here in the NZ Alps, so Hannah and I went for it! Left the farm for a two day visit to the village of Mt Cook....we're in a hostel that is completely surrounded by snow capped mountains! GORGEOUS!

Went past this one lake - Lake Pukaki - which is turquoise in colour! I'm not lying! It's amazing....a turquoise lake nestled between snow capped mountains....i can't begin to describe how beautiful it is! In a pub now, playing pool, sipping sherry and eating potatoe wedges.....YUM! It's a full moon tonight and with hardly any street lights, the valley is completely lit up by the moon! absolutely amazing!

Even got to see the largest glacier of NZ! The Tasman glacier and it's a whopping 29km long! It has a lake at the end of it and in this lake there are floating blocks of ice - yep, that's right! ICEBERGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOTTA RUN....Hugs from Hannah and I from this pristine village!
